CALL FOR SPEAKERS: Sharing Voices and Shaping Change

The Impact – A Discussion on Black Youth Experiences in BC Schools

“The Impact” Returns:

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 1st, 2023, when JrBAA proudly hosts its second annual educational seminar, “The Impact.” This dynamic event is a platform amplifying the voices of Black Youth in BC schools, interwoven with an enlightening workshop centred around fostering self-esteem.  At the heart of this event is a panel that delves deep into sharing personal encounters with systemic racism within educational institutions.

Raising Our Voices:

We are searching for resilient and passionate youth of African descent aged 15-19, willing to lend their voices to this transformative dialogue.  We invite you to share your stories focused on racism, microaggressions, and discrimination encountered in schools.  This panel will shape our discussions and foster understanding.  Interactive discussions and networking opportunities will follow the panel.

Recognizing the complexities of sharing such lived experiences, we stand committed to providing a supportive environment.  Accompanying the panel are two experienced Black Counsellors from Open Mind Counselling, who will both moderate the session and facilitate meaningful conversations.

Join Us in Making an Impact:
